King of picnics at his fav mansion house | Houghton House, Bedfordshire
We like ruins, ghosts hunting and nice views! You can find all of those things at Houghton House...apart from the ghosts, but maybe we just weren’t very lucky as yet. My son Ziggy, loves this place so much! He has a thing for castles and old houses, especially ruins. He loves running around this place.
The house isn’t huge but we always spend several hours there, every time we visit. Something about these walls, no ceilings and remains of what used to be a beautiful mansion house. The views of Bedforshire countryside are breathtaking, sunsets from this place are 10/10! My boy likes his food and picnics are his favourite, even during winter time. So it’s nothing unordinary to see us munching on some sandwiches and snacks while out and about! Sometimes on a proper picnic blanket and sometimes not. I have a cool mama hack for you, don’t throw your changing mat (if you own one) keep it and use it as a micro picnic blanket for your kiddo so their bum isn’t getting too cold. I always have it in my backpack. You can even out it on a wet grass as these things are usually waterproof. We have one that came with our baby bag and we used the hell out of it in last 5 years!
