View from Looe | Bay View Campsite, Cornwall (pt1 campsite review)

Cornwall, glorious Cornwall! if you’ve ever been you know! With over 300 beaches across 300 miles of coastline in this coastal county it is no surprise that there are some incredible seaside spots to visit. From the tropical feel of lying on the sand in the sun to catching some waves from some of the best surf in the country, the beaches in Cornwall provide something for everyone and are beautiful all year round. What else is Cornwall known for? Cornish pasty of course! If you ever had one from Tesco try to forget that taste it’s nothing like a real Cornish pasty! Nothing better than freshly baked pie full of meet and veggies served with proper chips! I never thought I’d say that! But it’s true!

We’ve been to Cornwall only once in the past and it was 2013, August bank holiday and the weather was truly horrible. We still enjoyed it but we spent half of the time waiting for the rain to stop because it was impossible to get out of the tent. I always wanted to go back I just wish the next time we go it will be hot and sunny. This time we decided to go for my birthday which takes place at the end of September. My brother’s friend owns a caravan which is permanently parked at a lovely campsite in Looe, so when my brother mentioned that he will be staying there for few days we decided to join them in our unfinished campervan. Considering it was late September the weather wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t a hot and sunny as I hoped, but it was pretty warm.

Check out the next post to see what places we visited on this trip

The campsite is run by a lovely lady, it has a lot of spaces for tents, campervan, caravans, glampods and static caravan available. Of course there are free hot showers, Launderette and kitchen area with sinks. Facilities are pretty basic but I never complain. We parked our campervan right next to my brothers caravan , we were able to connect to electric hook up, and we had views of the sea and Looe  bay and island. Because it was the middle of a pandemic the campsite wasn’t very busy. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down the footpath to get to the first beach and then further 40 minutes walk to get to Looe town.
