Read previous post about The National Showcaves Centre for Wales which is situated right next to this campsite.
it’s probably my favourite campsite when it comes kids friedndy attractions. As it’s situated within the grounds of The National Showcaves Centre for Wales where you will see 200+ life sized dinosours, caves and there is also a small farm zoo that you can access if you have a ticket for the showcaves centre. The campsite is surrounded by lamas and other farm animals. It’s not expensive (check their website for details). There is no need to book, unless you are planning to head over there for bank holiday weekend. It allows campervans, motorhomes as well as tents.
The campsite wasn’t busy at all but bear in mind it was a very cold may and temperatures where getting close to 0. I’m glad we brought our electric heaters and they were on all nights! Every camping spot for camper vans and motorhomes has water and electricity supply hook up and also a grey water drainage point. Toilet and shower blocks are free, there is also a kitchen sinks area. Hot showers are free of course there was also a chemical disposal point as well as mountain biking or a dog wash place which I found quite amazing.. There was a lot of llamas and other farm animals surrounding the campsite which was pretty cool to see first thing in the morning. The campsite also allows dogs which for me is a pretty important thing. You can access the mountain pathway directly from the campsite. It’s a pleasant walk up the mountain. Pretty easy but quite we did break some sweats on the way up, especially with Ziggy attached to our backs in a baby carrier. We did take turns as always, but man it was a work out! It was very windy up there but the views were to die for!
