The National Showcaves Centre for Wales - Abercraf, Swansea SA9 1GJ

https://www.showcaves.co.uk/

We went on this trip in May 2019. My brother decided to join us for this adventure with his family. It was nice to actually have someone with us for a change. It was pretty cold bank holiday weekend! I came across the National Showcaves Centre for Wales and I knew right away that it’s one of those places that we have to visit with our than two years old son who was already obsessed with dinosaurs. Located in a beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales this campsite has pretty much everything to offer. It’s a perfect holiday base for your caravan, motorhome or a tent, voted one of the top 25 caravan parks in Britain by a national newspaper the campsite is very environmentally friendly as your electrical needs are produced on site by hydrogen generators and solar panels. Campsite is situated just a few minutes walking distance from the Showcaves centre and the dinosaur park, there is also a little β€œzoo” on site with farmyard animals and little indoor play centre for little ones. If you buy a ticket for Showcaves and dinosaur park tickets to The farm are included in the price. Dinosaur park has one of the world’s largest collections of life-size dinosaurs models, there are over 200 models that are situated in the most beautiful scenery. Caves are pretty impressive too! Some of them carved out millions of years ago, you can also experience the excitement of walking behind 40 feet high water fall that cascade round you. The sound of the waterfall actually made our son fall asleep, it was very peaceful white noise and he clearly enjoyed that. And the fact that the campsite is situated within walking distance from the centre is just amazing!

p.s. if you wonder about the child carrier that Ziggy was travelling in, we used LittleLife S2 Child Carrier. I also bought additional rain/sun cover which we ended up only using 2 times but was totally worth it. The carrier was amazing, we always took turns in carrying Ziggy. So our back would suffer for too long. Saying that the carrier was pretty comfortable for us and for the little one(I think) he was able to see everything. It has a small pillow so it’s comfortable for him when he falls asleep in there, which happened on regular basis. You can buy it via my affiliate link HERE (you won’t be charged extra, but I will get a small commission if you decide to buy it through the link) or look for a second hand ones on FB market place or ebay. The choice is huge these days!
